LANDRUM — On April 22, the Dark Corner Classic Car Show will take place on North Trade Ave. in Landrum from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Registration to enter a vehicle will begin at 9 a.m. on the day of the show. The cost to enter will be $20 per vehicle entry. There is no cost for attendees. Previous shows have registered over 200 classic automobiles, and organizers and car enthusiasts hope to have an even bigger and better turnout this year.
“The Dark Corner Classic raises money to benefit the needs of the youth in Landrum,” says organizer Christie Gregory. “Whether that be contributing to the ball field or assisting with new equipment on the city playground, this is an amazing event that fills the streets of Landrum with beautiful cars, trucks and motorcycles. The local shops and restaurants will be open for all to enjoy. We hope the weather is good for us as this event was postponed from last October.”
Organizer and sponsor of the event, Tiffany Freel of State Farm Insurance in Landrum, shares her excitement about the car show.
“We love our community, and this event helps us give back,” says Freel. “Not only are we able to enjoy a good time of fellowship, but we have been blessed to share the proceeds. We have been able to support our local Landrum Youth Association, Operation Hope and several other local sports teams. We are excited to see how the Dark Corner Classic show will continue to grow in the future, and we thank all our sponsors for making this happen.”
The event sponsors are the City of Landrum, Hare and the Hound, Tiffany Freel State Farm, Keystone Self Storage, Stott’s Ford, Landrum Hardware, Marketsold Realty, Prince Gas, Leroy Maybry Used Cars, Gateway Realty, Geo Crane Service, Orange Bear Motors and Hardin’s Pest Control.
