Landrum Cardinals, Lady Cardinals defeat East Henderson

On December 6, Landrum Varsity teams won their double-header home court matchup against the E. Henderson Eagles in non-conference action before taking the week off to tune up for a pair of rematches against their nearest rivals.

Landrum Boys Varsity (5-1) won the second half of the double-header 52-43 over E. Henderson (3-3). This was also their second game of the season with the Cardinals winning the first 60-48.

Sophomore Bennett Edwards led the Cardinals in scoring with 22 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Junior Franklin Davis added 17 pts and 5 rebounds and freshmen AJ Lindsay put up an impressive line of 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and two steals in front of the home crowd.

The Cardinal next play on December 15 at 7:30 p.m. on the road against Blue Ridge (0-7), who they beat 75-59 in their previous meeting. They then play an 8 o’clock matchup against Polk County (3-2). 

The Landrum Lady Cardinals (5-2) routed the E. Henderson Lady Eagles (1-5) 61-25 in their second matchup of the year. Landrum won the first meeting on November 29, 51-17. Junior Kaylee Cortez led the Lady Cards in scoring with 25 points, and was followed by Sydney Price with 12 pts and Kylie Fortner with 11 pts.

The Landrum Varsity Girls next play Tuesday, December 13 at 6 p.m. on the road against the Blue Ridge Lady Tigers (7-3) in a rematch of one of their two defeats this year, before playing at Polk County (3-2) on December 15.
