On July 9, local residents and visitors alike turned out for the annual Coon Dog Day festivities held in downtown Saluda.

Coon Dog Day started in 1963 as a fundraiser supper for various local clubs. It is now known throughout the area as a “celebration of dogs and their people,” and is an annual celebration that has been proven to be a crowd favorite, year after year.

This year’s festival included the Coon Dog Day 5k, live music, street vendors, a parade, and of course, lots of coon dogs!
