Survey available for a strategic plan

POLK COUNTY—Polk County residents are being asked their opinion on the needs of the sheriff’s office so the department can create a strategic plan for the future.

A survey is currently available to help the sheriff’s office receive input on current operations and the future needs and operational priorities of the office.

The survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete with sheriff’s office officials saying it is crucial to providing the best services and protections to residents and in shaping the future of the department.

The online citizen survey, an internal employee survey, intergovernmental partner surveys and in-person community feedback events will all be part of the sheriff’s office’s final strategic plan.

The survey includes demographic questions, such as how people are associated with Polk County, where they live, if they know the name of the sheriff, if they know any employees of the sheriff’s office, how they would rate the office, how they rate different crimes and needs in the county and if the person would like to be contacted about in-person strategic planning events.

The survey can be found on the sheriff’s office website, Facebook or directly at https://s.surveyplanet.com/K60z6pdBg and will be open until Aug. 30.
