5th annual Saluda Historic Depot Golf Tournament is Oct. 12
Plan now to enter the Saluda Historic Depot’s 5th annual golf tournament at Kenmure Country Club on October 12, 2020.
“We are looking forward to seeing our returning golfers as well as many new participants for another exciting day,” says organizer, Judy Ward.
“Kenmure Country Club staff is doing everything we can to keep our members, guests and employees safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. We ask all guests when at Kenmure to social distance whenever possible and wear a face mask when entering the clubhouse and golf shop. During the golf tournament it is required by the health department that all players wear a mask when riding in a golf cart with someone other than a family member. Due to social gathering guidelines shotgun starts for golf tournaments are limited and any food and beverage served must be taken to go. We look forward to hosting the Saluda Historic Depot Golf Tournament again this year and appreciate everyone’s patience as we get through these difficult time,” states Luke Lovell, PGA Head Golf Professional, Kenmure Country Club.
Not only will you have fun competing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes plus “closest to the pin,” and “longest drive” for both men and women, there will also be two special “Hole-In-One” opportunities to win a new car and $10,000 cash.
Registration is easy by visiting SaludaHistoricDepot.com and clicking under Events. You can download the entry application and print the form and send to savesaludadepot@gmail.com. Registration deadline is September 21, 2020. For more information, please contact Judy Ward at 828-674-5958 or email judyward538@yahoo.com.
“Proceeds from this annual golf tournament are more important than any other year,” says organizer, Judy Ward. “Due to Covid-19, we could not hold any other fundraisers and this is the only one we will hold in 2020. The Depot museum has been closed most of the year and our monthly Saluda Train Tales have been canceled.” says Ward.
Golfers are encouraged to sign up for this year’s event early because we can only permit 48 players on the course.
“We are so grateful to our major sponsors who have stepped up amidst a pandemic to support the Depot,” says Cathy Jackson. “We express gratitude and special recognition to major sponsors Beverly-Hanks Realty, St. Luke’s Hospital, Riverstreet Networks, Green River BBQ and the Polk County Community Foundation.”
