Polk County Public Libraries seeks an enthusiastic teen intern who is interested in working with children. This is a temporary, part-time position for 20 hours a week for 8 weeks over the summer. This internship is made possible by a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation.

The library is looking for an intern who enjoys working with and helping people of all ages. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, detail-oriented, friendly, and a team player who can also work well independently.

The teen summer intern will help library staff present a fun and exciting Summer Reading Program. Duties include preparing summer reading packets, registering kids and teens for the program, and attending special events. The intern will also get a taste of everyday life at the library by shelving books, shelf reading, working on collections projects, and creating displays.
