Movement specialist to speak to Saluda seniors Aug. 15

Denise Medved, the creator of The Ageless Grace program, will be the featured speaker at Saluda Living In Places’s educational forum.

The program will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Saluda Fire Station on Greenville Street in Saluda.

Medved’s brain fitness program will teach 21 physical skills needed for lifelong optimal function, as it stimulates the five functions of the brain. The program emphasizes various anti-aging techniques such as joint mobility, balance, upper body strength and improved memory to increase self-esteem, confidence and playfulness.

Medved specializes in movement for anyone of any age who believes their mobility is restricted. She works with those 55 and older, those with chronic illness and physical challenges, and those recovering from injury and surgery. She also works with those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and those in wheelchairs or using walkers and canes. 

SLIP board meetings are held at 10 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month in SLIP’s new offices, located at 1347 Ozone Road, Suite C, Saluda. The August meeting has been moved to Thursday, Aug. 16. An open house and annual meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, and will feature Saluda artist Jim Carson.

SLIP office hours begin in August, and are open for information about the program’s services, inquiries about community services or just for a chat. The office is open from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays, and is located at 1347 Ozone Road, Suite C, in the office with Home Health Care of the Carolinas and next door to Saluda Family Medicine.
