Greek Creek’s Janice Fagan was recently inducted into the Second Wind Hall of Fame at the Green Creek Senior Center.
Fagan was secretary for Green Creek School for 30 years and secretary/SIMS (Student Information Management System) at Polk Central Elementary School for five years.
When she retired, she got her “second wind” very quickly, and started volunteering for her community and Polk County. Some of the many things she has volunteered for include:
• Green Creek Senior Center
• Dr. WT Head Memorial Clinic
• Green Creek School Reunion
• Green Heritage Day
• Thermal Belt Outreach Food Pantry
• Polk County Nursing Home Advisory Committee
• Green Creek 4-H Club Leader
• Mill Creek Church of the Brethren
Her hobbies include working in her yard and growing flowers when she has time.
The Second Wind Hall of Fame recognizes the volunteer efforts of people in the Polk County area who have retired, who get their “second wind” and serve the community and mankind.
