Next Holy Cross Book Study Series event July 26
Published 8:00 am Saturday, July 7, 2018
The next session in the series Redemption in Contemporary Fiction will be on Thursday, July 26, at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church.
The book for discussion is “A Land More Kind Than Home” by North Carolina author, Wiley Cash.
In his debut novel, Cash writes a literary thriller about the bond between two brothers and the evil they face in a small North Carolina town. “A Land More Kind than Home” is a modern masterwork of Southern fiction, reminiscent of the writings of John Hart (“Down River”), Tom Franklin (“Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter”), Ron Rash (“Serena”) and Pete Dexter (“Paris Trout”), organizers said.
All are invited to the book discussions.
People may bring friends to the talk.
Books are available at The Book Shelf at a 10 percent discount.
