TIEC official to speak at next Pea Ridge Gathering Thursday

The next Pea Ridge community gathering will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the community center, located at 207 Big Level Road, 3.5 miles east of Mill Spring, just off Highway 108.   

Area residents and interested people are invited to attend the group’s second ice cream social of the summer. Those who are unable to bring a churn of homemade ice cream may instead bring fruit, toppings and beverages. Ice and paperware will be provided.   

A special collection will be taken to replenish the scholarship fund at the gathering.

Guests will hear from Sharon Decker, chief operating officer of the Tryon International Equestrian Center, who will give an update of events and activities at the center during the summer and fall season, along sharing more about the 2018 World Equestrian Games that will take place at the Mill Spring center in September.   

Guests may bring their recyclables to the center any time on Thursday, as the Polk County recycling containers will be located inside the tennis court fence for drop-off.  The truck will pick up later that day or early on Friday, July 13.
