Saluda Police Department Report

The Saluda Police Department covered a total of 3,452 miles throughout the month of May.

During May, there were 32 state citations, 11 city citations and 21 warnings given, including three for expired registration and four for no operator’s license. Three possession of paraphernalia, all three being marijuana with zero cocaine, meth, opium or heroin. Driving citations were given, including one reckless driving, one revoked plate, two speeding and two driving while license revoked.

Officers also responded to four open door, 15 suspicious person or vehicle, one property damage and one vandalism calls along with 59 others. Three accident calls, two larceny calls, one B&E call, 13 welfare checks and four alarm calls were also responded to.

Businesses and churches were checked every night by the police department.

Five arrests were made: two on order for arrest, one shoplifting, one assault and drugs, and one due to warrants.

Saluda officers also assisted Polk County, Columbus Police Department, North Carolina Highway Patrol and the fire department.
