Native Polk County resident, experienced coach to teach at local basketball camp

Retired Basketball Coach Seth Vining will be helping out on June 27-29 to teach the fundamental basics of shooting a basketball at the Wolverine gym this month.

The Basketball Camp will be held at Polk County High School from 1-5 p.m. each day. It is intended for boys from first to eighth grade.

Vining retired to northern Georgia after coaching both high school and junior college for 38 years. During his coaching career, Vining had a record of 745 wins and 295 losses.

Vining coached four state championship winning teams, and three state championship runner-up teams. He was in the Georgia Final Four 10 different times, and was inducted into the Northeast Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

Vining is a native of Polk County, and both he and his wife graduated from Tryon High School.
