Polk County District Court Results – May 30

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 179 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Ingrid Avelar-Moreno was convicted of speeding 104 mph in a 70 mph zone. Avelar-Moreno was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $20 fine and court costs.

Joseph Morgan Banks was convicted of failure to notify DMV of address change. Banks was fined $20 and court costs.

Bryan Steven Chandler was convicted of unsafe movement and driving while license revoked-not impaired revocation. Chandler was fined $50 and court costs.

Zachary Kirby Clayton was convicted of resisting public officer, possession of heroin and simple possession of schedule II controlled substance. Clayton was sentenced to two years supervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Kent Ka-El Craig was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Craig was fined $40 and court costs.

Derrick Edward Forney was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Forney was fined $20 and court costs.

Malcolm Dwayne Hannon was convicted of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation. Hannon was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served.

Brandon D. Henderson was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Henderson was fined $40 and court costs.

Julianne Carolin Hill was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Hill was sentenced to six days in jail with credit for time served.

James Thomas Houston was convicted of failure to appear. Houston was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served.

Ricky Jacobs was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Jacobs was fined $40 and court costs.

Vickie Ruff Lindsey was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Lindsey was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Richard M. Randolph was convicted of possession of marijuana ½ to 1 and ½ ounce. Randolph was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Charles H. Rittgers was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Rittgers was fined $40 and court costs.

Kevin Tavion Rucker was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Rucker was fined $25 and court costs.

Brett E. Ruschman was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Ruschman was fined $40 and court costs.

Shaniqua Sheppard was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Sheppard was fined $50 and court costs.

Aaron Wesley Strickland was convicted of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation. Strickland was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $20 fine and court costs.

William Ross Sturm was convicted of level one driving while impaired. Sturm was sentenced to two years supervised probation, 30 days in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.

Paul McElehn Thompson was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Thompson was fined $50 and court costs.

Jacob Tyler Waldo was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. Waldo was sentenced to two years supervised probation and court costs.

David Justin Waters was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Waters was fined $50 and court costs.

Victoria Lasha Waters was convicted of failure to notify DMV of address change. Waters was fined $20 and court costs.

Michael Paul Williams was convicted of probation violation. Williams’ probation was terminated unsuccessfully.
