Green Creek student receives Margaret L. Forbes Distinguished Scholar Award

The Board of Directors for the Stuart and Margaret L. Forbes Foundation Inc. has announced the recipient of the 2018 Margaret L. Forbes Distinguished Scholar Award.
Kendall Hall, the recipient, is an honor student at Polk County High. She is vice president of the Polk County FFA and is a member of the leadership team for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Hall is the volleyball team captain and she serves as vice president of the senior class.
In 2016, she was selected as the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Ambassador. Last summer, Hall attended Governor’s School West for Natural Sciences.
In 2017, she was chief junior marshal at graduation. She volunteers at the Foothills Humane Society and works at Side Street Pizza.
Hall plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she will study biomedical engineering. Hall is the daughter of Kenny and Donna Hall, and lives in Green Creek.
The $12,000 renewable Margaret L. Forbes Distinguished Scholar Award is awarded to a Polk County High School student who demonstrates outstanding leadership, high academic achievement, a strong dedication to community service and participation in school clubs and extracurricular activities.
The scholarship is awarded by the Stuart and Margaret L. Forbes Foundation and is administered by the Polk County Community Foundation.
