Craig DeBrew, of Duke Energy (third from left), presents $3,000 to Isothermal Community College to support the annual school’s Science & Technology Expo. Pictured with DeBrew are, from left, Isothermal administrators Dr. Dolly Horton, President Walter Dalton and Thad Harrill. The Isothermal Science & Technology Expo, part of the NC Science Festival, takes place in the spring, and brings all of the sixth graders in Rutherford and Polk counties to campus to see dozens of science-related interactive exhibits. “This is a great way to get students interested in the STEM fields at an early age and Duke Energy is proud to be a part of it,” DeBrew said.
