Final Sunset Series concert of 2018 to take place Thursday at TFAC

The 2018 Sunset Series winds down on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Tryon Fine Arts Center’s  Peterson Amphitheater with a performance from the Dan Keller Jazz Trio.

The Dan Keller Jazz Trio is an instrumental jazz project comprised of upright bassist Ryan Kijanka, drummer Micah Thomas and guitarist Dan Keller. Frontman Dan Keller has worked as a musician and teacher in the Asheville region for over 10 years, and is an instructor in the Pacolet Junior Appalachian Musicians program at TFAC.

The trio put their own spin on timeless standards and melodies, without losing the grit and authenticity of jazz, representatives said. Many eras, from early swing, Latin jazz, bebop and soul-jazz are represented. They strive to entertain both casual listeners and seasoned connoisseurs.

The Dan Keller Jazz Trio will perform in the Peterson Amphitheater as the sun sets over the Blue Ridge Mountains behind Tryon Fine Arts Center.
