Liberty’s Red Devils enter Wednesday’s game at 6-6 overall, and 2-4 in their region.

Blacksburg out scored Landrum, 20-6 in the first quarter, but the Cardinals dominated after that, outscoring Blacksburg 18-10, 17-11 and 16-11 respectively in the second through fourth periods.

For the regular season, Landrum’s Trey Smith averaged 28 points per game, while his All-State teammate, Foster Bridges, averaged 18.6. Manny Gonzalez led the Cardinals in rebounds with an average of 9.6 per game.

A characteristic that the Cardinals share with Landrum’s varsity women is that, if one leading player has a sub-par game, others will pick up the slack.
