LHS men top Chesnee; fight for region title at St. Joe’s Tuesday

As Landrum’s men’s basketball team is on course to capture the region title, tonight’s game at St. Joseph’s Catholic is a crucial contest. Landrum is currently 5-1 in the region, after hammering Chesnee, 67-53 at Chesnee on Friday, Jan. 26, but St. Joe’s is 4-2 in the circuit.

Against Chesnee, Trey Smith, Landrum’s all-time scoring leader, canned 28 points (including four threes), while fellow All-State Team member Foster Bridges popped 20. The Cardinals’ Manny Gonzalez grabbed 11 rebounds for the winners, who lifted their overall mark to 16-4.

This Friday, Feb. 2, the Cardinals host Christ Church Episcopal.
