In what continues to be another outstanding season, men placed second, and the women third, in the Region 1 2A cross-country (5,000-meter) meet at Landrum, on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Leading the Cardinal men, and placing seventh of 47 runners, was Clay Knight (17:21.73). Cardinals Sam Blackwell (11^th overall, in 17:42.25) and Silas Phillips (12^th, 17:44.47) also helped the hosts.

In women’s competition, Landrum’s Alexus Atkins (seventh among 44 runners, at 20:53.51), and Chloe Dickson (eighth overall, in 20:56.33) paced the Cardinals.

On Nov. 4, the Cardinals compete in the state championships at the Clemson Sandhills Research Center in Columbia.
