A long bus ride to West-Oak seemed a bit shorter on the way home for Landrum’s Cardinals, who scored their first win of the varsity football season, a 20-9 triumph over the Warriors at Westminster, on Friday, Sept. 15.

Kolbe Pruit (25-yard play) and Jadyn Suddeth (35-yard play) scored touchdowns on Michael Clark passes. Adding even more excitement was Easton Jenkins’ 20-yard touchdown runback following his interception of a West-Oak pass.

Did the win feel good for Landrum head coach Jason Farmer?

“It sure did,” Farmer replied. “It always feels good to win.”

Last year, at Landrum, the Cardinals crushed the Warriors, but that was last year, and with different personnel on both teams.

“It’s two different teams, two different seasons,” Farmer emphasized.

This Friday, Sept. 22, the Cardinals host Walhalla. Opening kickoff is set for 7:30.
