With one loss in the double-elimination state AA playoffs, Landrum had no room for error when Andrew Jackson’s Volunteers came to town on Wednesday. In the previous two games, the Cardinals edged visiting Cheraw, 9-8, on May 6 and they then lost a nine-inning 7-6 squeaker to host Buford on May 8. One of the Cardinals’ high points against Andrew Jackson was a two-run homer by Sarah Price in the home seventh. Price, who extended her multi-season consecutive game-hitting streak to 80, has rounded third, and heads for a joyous reception at the plate. The Cardinals’ season ended at a fine 14-5.
