Cardinal men prepare for post-season by trimming CCE

With the post-season on the near horizon, Landrum’s men established their dominance early en route to defeating Christ Church Episcopal, 64-48, in men’s varsity basketball at CCE on Friday, Feb. 3.

The Cardinals, who built leads of 15-9, and 29-17, after the first and second quarters, got 21 points from sophomore Trey Smith, who contributed four assists and three steals. Freshman Turner Ussery added 16 points; Foster Bridges scored 11; and Manny Gonzalez grabbed a dozen rebounds to help guide the Cardinals, who raised their overall record to 16-6, and their region mark to 6-2.

This Tuesday evening, the Cardinals visit Greer Middle College High School. Tipoff is set for 7:30. On Thursday, the Cardinals are home against Blacksburg, for the last game of the regular season. Again, tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
