Lindsey Hardin’s 20 points led the Cardinals, with Sara Price adding 13. Ellen Boatwright netted nine for the Cards. SCA’s Kayla Camacho’s 20 points tied for game high. Hardin popped a trio of three-pointers, while Camacho hit two, as did Boatwright.

Landrum, which boosted its season mark to 9-0, gradually built a solid lead over SCA.

In men’s play, SCA led the Cardinals, 19-6 after eight minutes, and by 41-26 at the half. The Cardinals took charge in the second half, outscoring SCA17-12 in the third quarter, and 32-26 in the fourth, but couldn’t overtake their hosts.

Foster Bridges poured in 31 points for the Cardinals, with teammate Trey Smith adding 18.

An overall shooting average of 38 percent from the field did not help the Cardinals (4-3 after the game), who shot well (82 percent) from the line. Foul trouble also limited the Cardinals.

This Wednesday through Friday (Dec. 21-23), the men’s varsity will compete in the Smoky Mountain Classic in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Both teams will host the Dec. 28-30 Battle at the Border tournament.
