Lindsay Lewis says she is very excited to be a part of the
Congregational Church in its period of transition. She has been attending with her family periodically prior to taking this position and says she likes the kind message and the welcoming attitude of the congregation.
Lindsay grew up in churches that had good children’s programing that made children feel included as members of the church in their own right. She says that background has helped her in her life and faith; she wants to help the church continue to provide that for the children and youth of the congregation.
“Children have such a unique relationship with God and faith because of their capacity to just believe … and we all have something to gain from experiencing that alongside them,” she said recently.
Lindsay moved to Columbus from Raleigh after she was married in 2007. Her husband, Joe, grew up in the area. They have two children, ages 6 and 5. She attended UNC Asheville and received a degree in environmental science. She is active on the board of Tuesday School and enjoys volunteering in art class at Tryon Elementary. When she does manage to find a little time for herself you can usually find her knitting!
