With her team ahead two games to none in the first round of state AA volleyball playoffs, Landrum’s Nicole Ford, just recently named to the All-State AA team, uncoiled and smashed the ball past or through the Fox Creek defenders, for the first point of the third game, as the Cardinals won, 25-9, earning the right to visit Southside Christian (Simpsonville) in last evening’s second round of playoffs.

Results were not available at press time.

Against visiting Fox Creek on Wednesday, Oct. 26, the Cardinals dusted off their opponents, 25-8, 25-3 and 25-9. So sharp were Anna Goff’s players that, at one point in Game Two, they served 17 consecutive times.
