Students at PCHS in the Introduction to Criminal Justice and Ethics classes visited with N.C. State Highway Patrol Trooper Darryl Bailey.

On March 19, North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper Darryl Bailey visited the Introduction to Criminal Justice and Ethics classes at Polk County High School. Trooper Bailey spoke with students about the NCSHP, its role, career opportunities and modern policing. Students were also able to view Trooper Bailey’s patrol vehicle, which is not only his office but also equipped, as all troopers are, to respond at a moment’s notice to different types of incidents across the entire state including first line of protection for the governor.

Tryon Police Captain Tim Wright, the class instructor, said, “Trooper Bailey is one of the most respected law enforcement officers in Polk County and I am grateful he was able to share his knowledge with our students.”
