Beetle at the Bulletin

Published 11:37 am Tuesday, July 22, 2014

This large beetle was found hanging out on the wall by the Bulletin’s front door on Friday. It is believed to be an Eastern Hercules beetle, a member of the Rhinoceros beetle family. This particular one is female, as it is without the characteristic “horn” found on males. Throughout the day Friday, passersby stopped to photograph and comment on this large insect, which calmly strolled around on the same brick for hours.
