On Saturday, June 28 all are invited to come to a fundraiser event at the Grace Foothills building, located at 27 S. Trade St. in Tryon from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The fundraiser is for Brock and Deborah Wilkie, along with their one-year-old daughter, Carys, who have been called to long-term mission work in Wales, UK. They will be serving with World Horizons, a Christian non-denominational mission agency committed to bringing the gospel to the least-reached and discipling the nations.
The fundraiser will include an indoor yard sale with a bake sale upstairs in the “The Loft.” Attendees can enjoy live music and a cold drink, sign up for raffles and more.
All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Wilkie family’s missionary fund.
The Wilkie’s role in Wales will be Youth Camp Coordinators on the Youth Development Team, impacting young people from all over the UK as they build relationships through outdoor adventure ministry.
The Wilkies reside in Rutherfordton and are members at Grace Foothills Church in Tryon.  Brock is a former Marine currently working as a landscape contractor and Deborah is a professional Celtic harpist/vocalist, working as a full time mom.  They will be going to Wales for a 3-month training course through World Horizons in September, then returning home to complete support, raising with plans to move to Wales by spring, 2015.
The Wilkies love sharing about their heart for Wales and are available to speak to churches, groups and individuals.  For information about the fundraiser, call 828- 287-5603.  To find out more about the Wilkies and their mission, visit www.wilkies4wales.com and check out their Wilkies4Wales page on Facebook.
