Sunny View joins hundreds of other communities across N.C., planting gardens of Pinwheels to draw attention to the importance of Child Abuse Prevention. Young children helped kick off the project hosted by McGuinn’s Store in Sunny View.
April is designated as Child Abuse Prevention Awareness month in N.C. and the pinwheel garden project is promoted by the N.C. Prevent Child Abuse organization who states “shining in the sun, the pinwheels represent a bright future for our children and our community.  We want all children to live in stable, loving and stimulating environments at home, school and in the community.”
The Partnership for Children of the Foothills provided the pinwheels for the Sunny View garden display.  For more information contact Cathy Brooks at 828-625-4008.
