When the audience settles into the pews at Tryon’s Holy Cross Church for the Foothills Music Club’s upcoming organ concert on Thursday, March 13, it will hear, in addition to the five featured organists (Cecilia England, John Gardner, Susie Mahnke, Diane Pickens, and Meryt Wilson), the FMC Chorale.
The chorale began several years ago under the direction of vocal coach and club member Rita Stobbe, and has performed at the club’s organ concert every year since.
This year, new club member Ursula Elliott will accompany the chorale in one of its selections.  Ms. Elliott is a concert pianist and accompanist, and a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Chorale director Stobbe has a broad choral background, including church and college choir direction, opera and radio drama.
