The annual Isothermal Community College – Polk Golf Tournament is shaping up to be a great experience for a worthwhile cause.
It will take place on Monday, Oct. 21, at the beautiful Kenmure golf course – “a spectacular Joe Lee-designed course featuring magnificent golf and mountain views.”
The annual tournament benefits the New Century Scholars Endowment Fund and other educational scholarships at Isothermal’s Polk County Center.
The New Century Scholars program is an experience that targets rising seventh grade students at Polk Middle School, mentors them through high school graduation, and insures their access to college.
There are just a few more team spots available. Organizers will attempt to place single golfers on a team. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. There will be a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.
The fee includes an opportunity to play a spectacular course with chances to win $10,000 for a hole-in-one at No. 9; a four-day and three-night vacation at French Lick Springs Hotel in Indiana (near Louisville, Ky.) for a hole in one on No. 5; $500 of Travis Mathew apparel for a hole-in-one on No. 14; and four pairs of Maui Jim Sunglasses for a hole-in-one on No. 11.
Also, there are cash prizes for first, second and third place winners in each of two flights – $100, $75, and $50 per golfer.
There will be two raffles available: a condo at James Island (near Charleston, S.C.) for three nights and four days and a round of golf for four with carts at Kenmure Country Club.
