In part the help is being offered to get people ready for Holy Cross Church’s Race To The Head Of The Class to be held Dec. 14, 2013. There will be a 5K and 10K run plus a 1K fun run/walk. Funds raised from the race all go to the Holy Cross Scholarship fund, which benefits all students in the community – not just those who attend Holy Cross Church.

The scholarship fund was created by an endowment in the 1960s to for students in the communities surrounding Tryon and Landrum. This year Holy Cross gave out $21,000 in scholarships and that is typical for most years.
