The Tryon Women’s Golf Association weekly event for Aug. 27 was the end-of-the-month nine-hole Captain’s Choice, and the winning teams were as follows:

In first place with a score of 35 were Becky Walker, Nancy Hiley and Betty Murray.

In a scorecard playoff, the members of the team coming in second with a score of 37 were: Peggy Henson, Lee Heelan, Becky Kennedy and Hoppy Long.

The team coming in third, also with a score of 37 were: Mary Lou Diekman, Claire Conrad, Delia Tittle and Judy Muncy.

Golf was followed by the monthly luncheon/meeting, and the Tryon Women’s Golf Association enthusiastically welcomed the new golf pro, Gerald Weathers.  Hostesses for the day were Patsy Hanskat, chair; Wyndy Morehead and Judy Muncy.

Please be sure to sign up at the pro shop for the Sept. 3 low gross, low net, low putts event.

Later start times beginning in September are 8:30 a.m. for the 18-holers and 9 a.m. for the nine-holers.
