Despite a strong showing from fans and enthusiastic players, the Polk County Wolverines lost their regular season opener versus Shelby 38-21 Friday, Aug. 23.

Quarterback Reece Schlabach scored the first and second touchdowns on keepers, with the third touchdown grabbed by Anthony Carson.

The Wolverines just couldn’t hold off Shelby as they allowed the opponents to score several touchdowns later in the game.
