Foothills gymnasts bring home two team golds from Everest Classic

Level 4 and Modified Optional gymnasts from Foothills Gymnastics Academy competed in the 2012 Everest Classic in Huntersville, N.C. on March 3. Both teams earned first place team gold finishes in this AAU-sanctioned event.
The level 4 team consisted of Ragan Ashmore, Rollins Carter, Madison Geddings and Ella Waldman. The Modified Optional Team (Level 6-7) consisted of Colleen Burke, Lily Nelson, Julianna Robbins, Savannah Robbins and Sydney Waldman. In addition, level 4 gymnast Rollins Carter and Modified Optional gymnast Sydney Waldman each won 1st place Individual All-Around gold medals.
In level 4, gymnasts from Foothills Gymnastics, in a near sweep, took four of the top five honors. Rollins Carter won first with a combined all-around score of 36.725, earning her Elite gymnast status with the score above 36.00. In addition, Carter won first place gold on beam (9.350) and floor (9.225) while earning a second place silver on bars (8.675) and third place bronze on vault (9.475). Carter is the daughter of Robert and Margot Carter of Tryon.
