Funds in the amount of $6,000 were donated to the Polk County Soil & Water Conservation District to be used in the renovation of the Mill Spring Agriculture Center. The old Mill Spring School was recently donated to the Polk County Soil & Water Conservation District. Plans for the building are to create an Agriculture Development & Community Center that will benefit the whole community. Grants and private donations will be used to renovate the building to create a facility that will eventually promote education, provide business ventures, and enhance agriculture opportunities. Anyone wishing to give a tax deductible donation to the Mill Spring Agriculture Center can do so by calling the Polk County Soil & Water Conservation office at 828-894-8550. (photo submitted)
