White Oak Manor -Tryon has teamed up with the Polk County Sheriffs Office to solicit the donation of blankets, coats, hats, gloves and sweaters, which will be distributed to residents of Polk County who are in need of assistance during this unusually cold weather.
Anyone in the area who would like to contribute may do so by dropping their donations off at White Oak Manor Tryon, 70 Oak Street, between now and Friday, January 22.
The only specific request is that the items be clean. As soon as items begin coming in they will be distributed by members of the sheriffs team.
White Oak – Tryon Administrator Mary Lance said, “This is a time for the whole community to pull together and do as much as we can to help. We are pleased to be working with Sheriff Hill and his staff to provide as much assistance as possible during this very unusual weather event. Even though the forecast is looking better, temperatures are still brutally cold at night. We hope the donations from our staff, our families and the White Oak Apartment residents as well as the surrounding communities will help people get through this difficult time.”
