Serve the people, or resign

To the editor:

In response to Tom Pack’s reason for not reappointing Nancy Hasselbring and Patti Lovelace, in other words, Tom Pack is saying that the citizens of Polk County do not have the right to vote for who they believe are the right people for the job. Nancy Hasselbring and I did not try to SWAY anyone to not vote for the Republicans (Nancy is a Republican!). It is my right to support and vote for whomever I want to vote for. How arrogant can someone be, Mr. Pack!

For the animal cruelty investigators organization to be pulled into a political vendetta by Tom Pack, Michael Gage and Keith Holbert is disrespectful, unethical, and petty. We have worked very hard to serve the citizens of Polk County, too hard to have it yanked out from under us because you people are on a power trip. If you are on the board of commissioners to serve yourselves, you need to resign, because this is not the job for you. The application for next year needs to have a box for applicants to check if they are Democrats and Republicans if this is how things are going to be.
