Last Sunday, Vonda Krahn (left), Lanier Library’s executive director emeritus, was honored by members of the library, family and friends with a portrait unveiling and reception. Serving 23 years at the library, Krahn said, “It never seemed like a job to me…What better surroundings to be in than a room, or a building, full of books?” She said that she never expected to work at the library for 20-plus years, but that it “has been a good trip.” The portrait is by Tryon artist and musician, Rich Nelson (right), also present at the reception.
