Dig out that smock, hunt up your beret, grab that young budding artist and come create art for all to see. Tryon Painters and Sculptors will hold a Peoples Art Celebration at their new gallery and studio space at 78 N. Trade Street in downtown Tryon on Saturday, April 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You are invited to come by and create a personal piece of art on paper. Tryon Painters and Sculptors will provide all materials including paper, colored chalk, water based colored markers, and crayons.  Each piece of art will be hung on the “Guest Artist Wall” to be viewed by the public throughout the duration of the exhibition until June 6. At that point, you may then pick up your masterpiece to be hung at home or sent along to Grandma.

This will be a fun day for the whole family. An ice cream vendor, balloons, and plenty of laughter will fill the day. All ages are welcome as long as you can somehow reach the drawing table and hold a crayon. Tryon Painters and Sculptors members will be on hand to assist the artists. Donations are appreciated.

The festivities will continue with a reception from 5-7 p.m. marking the opening of the Gallery Show featuring Tryon Painters & Sculptors members, Barbara Thomas, Ruthie Rosauer, Wanda Veh, and Patti Miles Cooner. Member’s art will be featured on the Members Gallery Wall and will be for sale. The public is invited. Stop by and meet the artists, refreshments will be served.
