Wolverine women top Mitchell, 46-31

Outscoring Mitchell, 17-2 in the first quarter, Polk County’s women’s varsity basketball team rocked the Mountaineers, 46-31, at Bakersville on Tuesday evening, Jan. 27.

 

Kara Overholt led the Wolverines with 21 points, including making four f seven from three-point range. Hayley Kropp scored ten, grabbed 13 rebounds, and contributed five assists, while Autumn Owen (five points) and Ashley Kropp (four) rounded out the scoring.

 

Polk upped its overall mark to 11-8, and is 4-5 in Western Highlands Conference competition.

 

On Wednesday, Jan. 28, the Wolverines visited East Henderson. Results were not available at press time. Next home game is Feb. 4, against Avery County.
