Brushfire Stankgrass holds Asheville’s number one ranking for bluegrass bands on reverbnation.com. Their sophomore effort “Microclimates” is currently ranked number two on the Relix and jambands.com radio airplay charts and was named as one of WNCW’s top 100 releases of 2013. The two founding members (Ben and Will Saylor, banjo and guitar) are brothers who have been playing music since the age of three.

Together with a rhythm section comprised of Micah Thomas on drums and Daniel Iannucci (both are seasoned and well known Asheville musicians), the groups chemistry is obvious. Their debut album was featured in Relix Magazine’s top radio airplay charts in 2011, climbing as high as number two and staying in the top five for three months.

Last year’s live performance highlights included nearly 100 tour dates and several notable festival appearances. WNCW listeners voted “One for the Salamanders” as a top 10 regional release of the year and both albums are currently available from all major online music stores. “Microclimates” features several top-tier guest performers and is on track to remain on the radio charts well into the spring.

Remember to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Bojangles and the Frosty Filly are offering 20 percent discounts on the evening of the performances to those who are going to the concerts. For more information call the library at 864-457-2218.
