Tryon Painters & Sculptors opened the Carolina Views Show with a reception at which attendees voted for their favorite entries. The People’s Choice Award winners were selected from the almost 50 entries.

The first place prizewinner was Blaine Owens for his photograph entitled “Local Lawn Service.”  Second place went to Kate Thayer for her pastel over watercolor “In the Mood”. Third place was awarded to Lori Heckelman for her oil painting “Pond at the Blue Wall”.

The Carolina Views Show will continue through Sept. 27 at the Tryon Painters and Sculptors Gallery located at 26 Maple St. in downtown Tryon. Gallery hours are Thursday – Saturday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. In addition to the Carolina Views Show you can visit the Gift Gallery featuring the works of over 50 local and regional artists.
