Couch to 5K program moves to 5 p.m.

Published 11:39pm Wednesday, November 13, 2013

The Couch to 5K program being put on by The Episcopal Church Of The Holy Cross and the Tryon Running Club has a new time.

Instead of 6 p.m. on Thursdays, the group now meets at 5 p.m. on Thursdays each week because of the time change. The group continues to meet at Harmon Field in the open air shelter.

The program is designed to take non-runners from the couch to running a 5K in 10 weeks.

Runners are training for the upcoming Race To The Head Of The Class, also put on by The Episcopal Church Of The Holy Cross and The Tryon Running Club. It benefits the church’s scholarship fund, which is available to all local students. There will be a 5K, 10K and a 1K fun run/walk.

It’s not too late to join in. Come to one of the sessions or contact The Episcopal Church Of The Holy Cross at 828-859-9741.
