Pancakes and Christmas crafts at Tryon United Methodist Church

Published 11:16 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2013

They’re flipping pancakes Saturday, Nov. 2 at Tryon United Methodist Church, and it’s all for a good cause.
The welfare of Polk County’s children is an ongoing mission for the church’s United Methodist Women, and they have found ways to support that mission that will satisfy both the soul and the stomach.
By the time the doors open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2 the smell of pancakes and sausage will be wafting up from the church’s fellowship hall. A less fragrant, but still very tasty, alternative of oatmeal and fruit will also be served. Breakfast will be served until 11 a.m.
Before and after breakfast, visitors will have an opportunity to browse through the holiday crafts and gift items that will be on sale until 1 p.m.
Tryon United Methodist Church is located at 195 New Market Road, near the Pine Crest Inn.  For more information, call the church office at 828-859-9218.
