The Tryon Women’s Golf Association weekly event for Sept. 24 was the monthly nine-hole Captain’s Choice, and the winning teams were as follows:

In first place with a score of 37 were Joyce Arledge, Susie Gurnik, Becky Kennedy and Betty Murray.

In a scorecard playoff, the members of the team coming in second and third with a score of 40 were:

Second – Judy Muncy, Georgeanne Murphy, and Bonnie Sakos

Third –  June Current, Lee Heelan, Delia Tittle and Dee White

Golf was followed by the monthly luncheon/meeting.  Hostesses for the day were Becky Kennedy, Frances McCain and Shirl Axtell.
