Walnut Grove on the March

Bloody Bill's raid

Bloody Bill’s raid

If you were among those disappointed that Festifall 2015 had to be cancelled due to an historic weather event, take heart. The annual “Walnut Grove on the March” weekend is being expanded to include many of the events scheduled for Festifall.  There will be more than 100 re-enactors, storytellers, and artisans transforming the 1767 homestead into a living colonial village.

The event begins on Saturday, March 5, and continues through Sunday, March 6, with music, toy making, cooking, weaving, woodworking, basketry, candle dipping, and much more!  Historic re-enactments of loyalist partisan William Cunningham’s deadly 1781 raid on the plantation will also take place on both days.

Saturday, March 5,

All Day: Hourly demos, musket fire and drills, music, authors,

11 a.m.: Overmountain Victory Trail Association presentation

12 p.m.: Re-enactment of Bloody Bill’s Raid and battle demonstration
