MLK Commemoration held at TFAC

The Thermal Belt Friendship Council held a Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Tryon Fine Arts Center. The keynote speaker was Daryl Davis, a nationally recognized speaker, author and musician. His book, Klandestine Relationships, is an account of his journey as a black man trying to understand the mentality of racism by getting to know leaders of the Klu Klux Klan. The First Baptist Church Children’s Choir sang, poems by Della Jackson were read by Sandra Forney, a youth scholarship was awarded and artwork recognized by Landrum Middle School students.
