To the Editor:

I want to make our community aware of a show, Runt of the Litter coming to Tryon Fine Arts Center this Friday, Feb. 5th that according to the folks in Asheville, who saw it recently, transcends pure entertainment value and apparently offers an inspirational message for all.

John Ellis, Managing Director of the Diane Wortham Theatre- Asheville has written TFAC in an e-mail alerting them to the compelling outcomes his audience and Board experienced.

Mr. Ellis said, I can tell you this, do whatever you can to get your audience there. They will not be disappointed; in fact they will thank you for bringing the show to the community.

He went on to say that it gave his board members who attended, a sense of why we do what we do – of why we exist – of what impact we can have. Those members, who did not attend, were second guessing their decision when they heard the comments.

I came across Ellis e-mail on our kitchen table – my wife is a TFAC Director – and felt strongly that its substance needed to be shared.

What impresses me most is that you simply dont get unsolicited notes like this unless something very special is headed our way.&bsp; &bsp;
