GREEN CREEK – Carolyn Fagan Stubblefield, 89, of Green Creek, passed away Saturday morning, April 27, 2024, at Autumn Care of Saluda.
Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Walker Fagan and Hermia Cantrell Fagan. Carolyn was a graduate of Green Creek High School and was a member of Green Creek First Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, playing the piano and harmonica. Carolyn was an avid gardener.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Guy Fagan and Robert Nathan Fagan; one sister, Sarah Jackson; one grandson, Lee Odom.
Surviving is her loving husband of 48 years, John Stubblefield; two sons, Larry Hines (Karen) of Easley, South Carolina and Ronnie Hines (Winarni) of Buford, Georgia; one daughter, Gail Odom of Greenville, South Carolina; her blended family, Johnny Stubblefield (Jackie), Jay Stubblefield, Melinda Stubblefield and Marilyn Hilyer all of Laurens, South Carolina; one sister, Louise Sheehan of Green Creek; one brother, Gary Fagan (Debbie) of Green Creek; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Green Creek First Baptist Church.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Brinton Easley officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
